Donate in memory

One way to celebrate the life of a loved one is to ask family and friends to make a donation at their funeral service.

If you’re a funeral director or family member making funeral arrangements and would like to take donations for CALM, then there are two ways you can do this:

  1. Collect cheques made payable to Campaign Against Living Miserably and send to CALM, PO Box 68766 London SE1P 4JZ. Please let us know who you are remembering and we will ensure all gifts are recorded in their memory.
  2. Ask your friends and family to donate on CALM’s website. They can let us know who they are remembering and we will add it to the gifts given in your loved one’s name.

Some people also like to set up a tribute fund, so they can continue to raise money in their loved one’s name. Justgiving has a really simple process for doing this, but if you get stuck then contact us.

Being Bereaved by Suicide

Losing someone to suicide has been described as ‘grief with the volume turned up’. Your grief may be intense and feel unique: everyone is affected in their own way even within the same family. We promise you are not alone. There is support out there. You may find it helpful to start by looking at Help is at Hand, a book that offers practical and emotional support, written by people who have been bereaved by suicide. You can find it, and lots of other information, support, and local services, on the Support after Suicide website.
